Tips for Creating a Video Resume

If you're considering creating a video resume as part of your job search, keep these tips in mind:

• Be professional: Dress as you would for an interview and maintain a professional demeanor. Avoid slang and, of course, cursing. Be cautious when it comes to jokes. What's funny to you may not make others laugh. 
• Find a good background: Pay attention to the background of shots: make sure it looks tidy and that there are no noises in the background. You'll also want to make sure the lighting is good. A shadow across half of your face can be distracting.  
• Prepare a script: Don't ad-lib your video. You want to seem natural and off the cuff, but should have a sense of what you want to say and how you want to phrase it. Do not read directly from a script or from your resume, as that leads to a dull video. Think of the video as a pitch for why a particular company should hire you. As such, your main objective should be to express what benefits you'll provide the company, as well as your goals, skills, and accomplishments. 
• Know your audience: As you plan your script and filming location, consider who will watch the video and calibrate accordingly. For instance, a video prepared for a position at a bank might differ from a video created for a start-up.
• Show, don't tell: Use visuals to illustrate what you're saying in the video script, ones that showcase your talents and skills. For instance, if you're applying for a job where presentations are a significant part of the role, you can film B-roll of yourself assembling a PowerPoint. If any of your presentations were recorded, use that footage in your video resume.

2PL: Second Party Logistics  

• A 2nd party logistics involves transport of goods from a particular transport area of the supply chain like rail, road, sea or air.  

• They are the asset-based carriers and includes like transport using ships of own lease and airlines that they are contracted with. They are mainly used for international transportation of heavy and wholesale goods and for trading purpose as well. 

 

3PL: 3rd Party Logistics 

• A 3rd party logistics is a supply chain that primarily concerns the transportation and delivery of different products but also includes various types of additional services as well. 

• The functions of 3PL include warehousing, terminal operations, customs brokerage, supply chain management and many more. It also includes logistics IT software products and analysis services, for tracking and tracing the delivery status of different products. 

 

4PL: 4th Party Logistics 

• 4th party logistics is a new concept which is coming into the market, and it involves employing an overseer for managing all logistic of a company and they are often treated as a consulting company for many supply chains.  

• They are frequently contracted with many 3rd party logistics and for maintaining neutral management and for providing feedback regarding various 3pl logistics services. 

• Therefore 4PL will include all the benefits of 3PL providers but also include: 

  • Project Management, sourcing and negotiation 

  • Logistics strategy and analytics 

  • Impartial service advice 

  • A single point of contact 

 

5PL: 5th Party Logistics 

• 5PL involves a fully integrated logistics solution to encompass the whole supply chain from beginning to end through multiple outsourced service providers.  The integration must be achieved through the application of IT solutions to provide full visibility throughout the supply chain in ‘real-time’.  

• The 5PL logistics provider would need to control the entire supply chain regardless of how many different service providers were involved. With the focus on technology the 5PL solution is best suited to e-commerce.

Domain And Hosting:

If you are just starting your journey, start with blogger. Many of the highest paid bloggers started here on blogger. You will get a free subdomain, 'blogspot.com' and a super-fast hosting. SMART Goals

Setting goals is about intentionally creating the life that you want, one step at a time.

Before moving on the SMART goals, Let us start with the 'wrong' goals.

A wrong goal is often imposed by others, whether explicitly or implicitly. It’s something we feel we should do based on our parents’ expectations, what our friends and colleagues are doing, the societal norms that exist around us.

A wrong goal is not aligned with our personal values, it’s inconsistent with your underlying beliefs, and it’s not something you fundamentally and genuinely care about.

When we choose the 'wrong' goal we are inevitably going to be half hearted in our attempts at achieving them, which means we are likely to fail.

One of my favourite quotes is this:

“It doesn’t really matter how fast you’re going if you’re heading in the wrong direction.”

Having the right goals in place is fundamental to successfully achieving them, and for that achievement to really contribute to your happiness and life satisfaction.

So what are the 'right' goals?

A meaningful goal is one that you have been thinking about for months or even years. This shows commitment, which will be important in getting you over that finishing line. A meaningful goal is one for which you are naturally motivated, versus someone else telling you that you should do it. Again, this will make sure that you’re committed to working hard in order to achieve it. A meaningful goal is one that is consistent with your personal values.

A meaningful goal is one that you’re willing to work hard for. 

And a meaningful goal is one that will truly have an impact on your life, in terms of your happiness, general life satisfaction, or any other aspect of your life that is important to you.

Finally, we come to the SMART part!

S – Specific: Getting specific on the goals that you want to achieve will give you more clarity on what success looks like, and help you to identify the concrete steps that will get you there.

M – Measurable: If you can’t measure your goal, then how will you know if you have achieved it? How will you track your progress?

A – Achievable: Goals that may seem completely out of your reach can become achievable if you break them down into smaller steps and give yourself a reasonable time frame in which to achieve them.

R – Relevant: A relevant goal is a goal that is meaningful to you, as well as being relevant to the wider context, to what’s going on in the world around you, personally and professionally.

T – Time-bound: Finally, setting a deadline will help you to focus and will also give you a sense of urgency, which can motivate you to act now rather than putting it off until later.

Amul in the Amid of Corona Virus Crisis

Late evening on 24 March, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a stringent 21-day lockdown and No one will be allowed to move out of their homes from midnight to control the spread of the novel coronavirus. Even though essential services were exempted from the lockdown said by the PM, families across India rushed to grocery stores and dairy to stock up on essentials that night. Being an essential food item, dairy products were exempted from the lockdown.

India enforced a lockdown from 25 March to 7 June and most industries’ Supply chain was disrupted and also essential perishables like fruits and vegetables witnessed repeated fluctuations in prices and availability. But there were no instances of scarcity of dairy products or consumers being overcharged. Over the next three months Amul fulfilled the rising demand for milk as household consumption shot up. Demand for the long-lasting Amul butter and products like cheese nearly doubled, but there have been no shortages. During lockdown not a single case of infection was reported among plant workers. And not a single litre of milk was wasted in Amul.

How Amul model survived in that panic situation of national lockdown???

Amul has a mammoth Supply chain network in which 2.6 million farmers under GCMMF (Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation), 10,000 distributors and a million retailers include.

To handle the situation Amul began preparation by intensively planning with supply chain partners more than a week before the lockdown was announced. Soon after the lockdown imposed, Amul announced cash incentives for dairy plant workers, drivers, sales executives, distributors and retailers. Extra cash support of 100 to 125 Rs were given to casual workers for working during a pandemic and distributors also got an 35 paisa incentive per litre of milk. food and stay arrangements were arranged for workers inside dairy plants to avert any labour shortages.

Simultaneously, Amul reached out to the Union home ministry and state animal husbandry departments to arrange passes for its workers and ensure that empty trucks were allowed to return. To ensure uninterrupted supply of packaging materials, it engaged with district collectors where packaging factories were located. Amul even arranged for cattle feed to be transported from states like Punjab and Haryana for its farmers in Gujarat. Close to 45% of its products were moved via freight trains, which cut down transit time.

As an unorganized trade of small local dairies, Amul received 15-17% more milk from farmers. Demand for Amul’s packaged milk increased by 5-7% compared to pre-covid times as households chose a trusted brand over loose milk. Demand for cheese and paneer is increased 30% more even though closure of hotels and restaurants, while butter and ghee sales are up by 10-20%. Demand for ice creams decreased during the lockdown. But due to a flexible supply chain Amul was able to divert its distribution network of ice creams to other product segments.

The advantage of the Amul cooperative model is that profits are not a business target. They never turn a farmer away and the primary objective is to deliver products at the lowest possible price to the consumer. The success of the Amul model is a result of a unique mix—a company owned by farmers, managed by professionals, where consumer safety and trust are paramount.
